5 Essential Oils to help Ease Insomnia

We all have those nights spent tossing and turning, looking at the clock, counting down the time. If I fall asleep RIGHT now, I’ll have 5 hours until I have to get up for work… There’s nothing worse than being tired all day and the moment you lay down, you’re wide-awake!

Well have no fear boys and girls, I have a few tricks for you to maybe help you’ll get some shut-eye tonight! 


5 Essential Oils that may help ease Insomnia:


  1. Lavender Oil – one of the most calming and relaxing scents for the body and the mind 
  2. Sandalwood Oil – an oil high in sesquiterpenes, which is the chemical component that stimulates the pineal gland of the brain. This gland is responsible for producing melatonin, which is accountable for regulating the sleep cycle 
  3. Neroli Oil – known for it’s sedating properties and very useful for calming the nerves for those nights when you have a million thoughts flying through your head!
  4. Clary Sage - a delightful, comforting scent, known to be a muscle relaxant and anti-stress agent 
  5. Roman Chamomile – also a very relaxing, calming, and soothing scent, perfect for creating a peaceful atmosphere 


Bath Recipe:
  • 1 cup of Epsom Salts
  • 1/2 cup Himalayan Sea Salts
  • 10ml Sweet Almond Oil
  • 5ml St.John's Wort Oil
  • 10 drops of Lavender (or Roman Chamomile)
  • 10 drops of Neroli 
  • 4 drops of Sandalwood (Or Clary Sage)
  1. Mix above ingredients throgoughly together in a glass dish
  2. Run Bath Warm Bath Water
  3. Add Bath Salt Mixture to Bath water and disperse until salts have dissolved
  4. Hop in for a 20 minute Relax Sess.
  5. Go immediately to bed. No Tv, no phone, no distractions. {Bath, Pjs, bed.}
  6. Hope you have a good night's sleep!
